About the event

The 5th Open Hvar brings international competitive chess to Arsenal Hvar, with nine rounds played under the Swiss system and rated for the FIDE standard list. The tournament has a maximum field of 144 players and is accompanied by a separate Blitz Hvar competition. The published regulations list a total prize fund of €22,200, making the week one of the island’s most substantial competitive chess events.
