About the event

HVARMONY, taking place from 15 to 18 October 2026, brings together international speakers, contemporary knowledge and Hvar’s heritage through themes of slower living, resilience, healthy ageing and wellbeing. Before wellbeing had a name, Hvar already knew the art of living well. In 1868, the Hygienic Society was founded in Hvar, based on the idea that the island’s climate, sea and way of life could contribute to health and recovery. More than 150 years later, HVARMONY | Mind • Body • Soul: Mediterranean Art of Wellbeing brings that story into the present. From 15 to 18 October 2026, Hvar becomes a meeting place for international authors, speakers, experts and practitioners exploring what it means to live well today. Not simply how to live longer – but how to live the time we have better. Four Days Dedicated to the Art of Living Well Living well today can easily become another list of things to optimise. Sleep better. Move more. Breathe properly. Eat well. Be mindful. HVARMONY starts with a different question: Has even taking care of ourselves become another part of life that we feel we need to optimise? Over four days, HVARMONY will explore themes including slower living, sleep, movement, breathing, nutrition, mental resilience, healthy ageing and longevity, connecting contemporary knowledge with Hvar’s way of life. But what happens on stage is only part of the experience. Talks and conversations are combined with movement, time outdoors, local food, nature and the rhythm of the island itself. Because HVARMONY is designed to be experienced, not simply listened to. Hvar Is Not the Backdrop. Hvar Is Part of the Idea. Hvar’s light, sea, landscape, food and rhythm of island life provide a natural context for a conversation about what people truly need to feel well. This is what sets HVARMONY apart from a traditional conference or a generic wellbeing event. The concept is built around connection, access to people and ideas, conversation and participation – creating space for ideas to move beyond the stage and become part of the experience. HVARMONY also builds on Hvar’s long tradition of health tourism, connecting a legacy that began in the 19th century with today’s conversations about quality of life, healthy ageing, wellbeing and slower, more meaningful living. Speakers Carl Honoré Author of the international bestseller In Praise of Slowness and one of the world’s leading voices of the Slow Movement. For more than two decades, Honoré has explored one simple but increasingly relevant question: what happens when we stop rushing through our lives and learn instead to find the right pace? At HVARMONY, he brings that conversation to an island where climate, nature and a slower rhythm of life have shaped the idea of living well for generations. More: carlhonore.com Kristina Kuzmič Croatian-American author and speaker known for her honest and often humorous approach to life when things do not go according to plan. Her conversation at HVARMONY will explore the art of living when life is not perfect – resilience, expectations, self-care and the pressure to always have everything under control. A reminder that living well is not about creating a perfect life, but about learning how to live a real one well. More: kristinakuzmic.com The Mediterranean Art of Living Well HVARMONY is not designed to be the biggest wellbeing event in the region. Its ambition is different. To become a distinctive annual gathering in Hvar dedicated to the art of living well – a place that brings together knowledge, experience, nature, culture and people. Relevant enough to bring international voices and new ideas to Hvar. Intimate enough for conversations to continue beyond the stage. And connected deeply enough to the island that the same event could not simply be moved somewhere else. Wellbeing is the category. The art of living well is the idea behind HVARMONY. Perhaps the art of living well is not something new we need to learn. Perhaps it is something we need to remember.
